How to Enroll

Important Announcement

The Colorado Virtual Academy has reopened enrollment for grades K-5 and 9-11 for the 2008-2009 school year. It's not too late to make a change in your student's education, or for high school students to start the second semester off right .

Students in grades 9-11 will be enrolling for a late-January or early-February second-semester start date. Unfortunately, we are not accepting new students in grade 12 for the second semester in COVA high school. High school students who are accepted will access a limited catalog of second-semester course offerings. (No first-semester courses will be offered.)

Students enrolling in grades K-5 will be contacted with their start date once their enrollment is approved. At this time we are not accepting students in grades 6-8. Students who are not offered one of the limited spaces in the school will be part of the first group of enrolling students for the 2009-2010 school year.

Test
Step 3. Administer Placement Tests (K-8 only)
(Placement tests not required for students enrolling after October 1st)
If you are enrolling a student in grades K-8, administer the K¹² Math and Language Arts placement tests, which will help us to determine the appropriate courses for your student. Your student may start the placement tests while you are gathering the required forms (Step 2).

To administer the placement tests, log in to your Enrollment Dashboard and click “Begin” in the "Tests" column next to your student’s name for detailed instructions.

If your student is enrolling in grades 9-11, no placement tests are required. Instead, you will need to submit an official school transcript to help us determine the appropriate courses for your student.

Conference Step 4. Placement Conference
After you've completed steps 1 and 3, a placement specialist will contact you to discuss your student's course level.

Have You Completed All 4 Steps?

After all 4 steps are successfully completed, each student will be marked "approved" on your Enrollment Dashboard.

Once your enrollment is complete you will receive complete course materials before the first day of school. If your enrollment is approved 15 or fewer days before the beginning of school, your materials will arrive within 7-10 days of your enrollment approved date.

We recommend that you plan to attend a Parent Orientation or other event in your area before school starts.
