Students can set their imaginations free with the K12 Zone.
The K12 Zone is a safe space for students to learn, explore, and have fun. Moderators are always present to monitor student activity and step in when necessary.
Additionally, K12 has partnered with PRIVO, a leader in online children’s privacy, to secure parental consent and adult verification for students 12 and under to access the National K12 Zone and other features. For enrolled families who wish to give this consent, visit consent.k12.com.
To ensure your child’s safety, Gaggle, a third-party service employing both human and AI moderation, will also monitor all direct messages in the School K12 Zones, National K12 Zone, and K12 Chat.

There are many activities for students in the K12 Zone. Students can meet other classmates virtually; play games with others, like chess, tic-tac-toe, rock/paper/scissors; and more. Students can also explore our student store to check out school swag.
The K12 Zone is monitored by K12 moderators trained on the layout of the Zone, interacting with students within the Zone, the code of conduct students must follow within the Zone, and how to take action if a student breaks that code of conduct.
Only K12 students, K12 teachers, and moderators can join the K12 Zone.
The K12 Zone was designed to foster creativity, socialization, and community. While there are some games within the K12 Zone (tic-tac-toe, chess, etc.), the students will be spending most of their time getting to know others within their school. Additionally, if students spend excessive time playing games, moderators can encourage other ways for the student to utilize the K12 Zone.
