Frequently Asked Questions

All K12 tutors must meet the following minimum requirements:

  • Currently reside in the U.S.
  • Have a valid Social Security number
  • Eligible to work in the U.S.
  • Can provide documentation verifying they are an active state-certified teacher in any U.S. state
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills with fluency in the English language

At K12, ensuring equitable compensation for our tutors is very important to us. Our fee structure entails a student rate of $65 per hour, with a substantial proportion directed towards the tutor’s earnings. Tutors will have opportunities to earn more over time. You will be paid every other week.

We have streamlined the application process as much as possible. After filling out an application, selected candidates will be invited to an information session to learn in more detail what K12 Tutoring has to offer. Tutors will complete a background check where they will provide the following:

  • An active, valid teaching certificate in any U.S. state
  • Contact information
  • Education information
  • Work experience documentation

We know life can get hectic. Since you have control of your schedule, you can commit to providing as much or as little tutoring as your time allows. There is no minimum number of hours K12 requires you to work. You can be as active as you would like.
