ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Who can get a scholarship?

To qualify for Indiana’s Choice Scholarship Program, students must be Indiana residents between ages 5 and 22 as of October 1 and meet the income requirements.

  • Student’s Age: Between 5 and 22 years old
  • Household Income: Less than 400% of the amount needed to qualify for Federal Reduced Lunch

*According to household income guidelines, about 96% of Indiana students are eligible.

*Students must also meet one of the eight eligibility tracks.

Tracks Criteria

The most common eligibility tracks include:

  • Student has an Individualized Education Plan (IEP).
  • Student attended a public school for the preceding two semesters.
  • Student received a Choice Scholarship the previous year.
  • Student received a Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) Award.
  • Student has a sibling who received a Choice Scholarship or SGO Award.
  • Student would otherwise be required to attend a public school assigned an “F” grade.
  • Student received an early education grant for pre-K. 
  • Student is in foster care.
