How Does Online Eighth Grade Work?
EIGHTH GRADE CURRICULUM
Foundations for Future High Schoolers
Flexible online programming fosters initiative and independence, while encouraging self-discovery with electives. Eighth graders can self-pace their lessons and receive extra support from teachers in a safe learning environment.
Language Arts
Your eighth grader will analyze the structure and plot of short stories, poetry, drama, novels, and informational texts — learning to “read between the lines,” while developing oral and written communication skills.
Math
Grade 8 mathematics advances knowledge in algebra and geometry, teaching students how to solve linear equations, work with integers, model quantitative relationships, and apply the Pythagorean theorem.
Science
The physical science course is divided into chemistry and physics, helping students conceptualize atoms, molecules, chemical reactions, force momentum, and energy. Students learn to read the Periodic Table and apply the laws of physics.
History
